IONIC BREEZE AIR FILTER

If you have ever seen the Ionic Breeze infomercials, then you are probably considering buying one of these machines for your home. After all, the sales presentation is quite compelling. This air purifying system is very quiet, attracts dangerous particles in the air and is particularly effective at attracting and trapping tar and nicotine, major problem issues when you have indoor smokers.

However, before you buy the Ionic Breeze you need to understand just what these specialized characteristics actually mean for the machine. While it could be that this air purifier is just what you have been needing, if you have read any reviews on this item you will see that many customers feel that they have been mislead by the infomercials and that their air purifier actually is not meeting their needs. In fact, Sharper Image, the maker of the Breeze, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2008, citing problems with losses and litigation caused by its air purifiers.

This is not to say that an ionic breeze will not work for you. But you definitely need to evaluate the pro's and con's (and the con's that come with some of the pro's) before you make an investment in this machine.
One of the big issues that many people have with air purifiers is that they are noisy. Even though the noise is white noise, it still bothers many people. The Breeze is exceptionally quiet, which is highly attractive for people who are bothered by the hum or rattle of conventional machines. However, the quiet characteristics of the machine are due in large part to its lack of a fan, which means that it does not pull air through the filters as aggressively as other models. In fact, some lawsuits allege that the machine cannot attract any type of particle that is more than 1/8 of an inch away, and that this distance diminishes as the plates get dirty.

Another issue is the smoking aspect. The Breeze purifier does effectively attract a lot of tar and nicotine, keeping it out of the air and lungs of other people in the home. However, this can be extremely difficult to clean off the electromagnetic plates, and if you are not prepared to wipe them down daily, then you may end up with gunky buildup that you simply cannot get rid of. The Ionic Breeze has some serious benefits, but as you can see you need to go into ownership prepared to deal with the detractions as well.

An air purifier review will give you all the detail you need to make an informed choice. Whether you're looking for a discount air purifier or a top of the line model, it's best to do your research online first and then go shopping for the best price.
